Collective healing expressed through art.

THE LISTENING FIELD

A powerful human experience rooted in story, sound and relationship with wisdom of the land.

What are you carrying?

Through sound and story, individual experience becomes part of a shared process of meaning-making and collective regeneration. At its core, The Listening Field is about present, active participation in collective regeneration through how we listen, tell, and transform what we carry.

About the Field

The Listening Field creates a holding space rooted in land, sound, and story. Inviting those who feel called to shift and regenerate narratives shaped by systems of power and the forces that seek to define and contain our stories. It is a place to actively participate in writing a new personal and collective story.

Through online anonymous participation, people are invited to release, reflect, and transform their personal stories into offerings for the regenerating sunflower field. These transformed stories become part of a shared song, woven together and played to the field, and through an online radio that carries them outward.

Regeneration

The land itself is held within the same field of care. Through regenerative soil practices, story, and sound, the project attends to the earth not as a backdrop, but as a participant. Just as the body carries memory, so does the land and both are engaged through processes that honor restoration.

The Seed

Have you ever carried something so heavy…it quietly changes who you are? The way you speak. The way you move. The way you exist in the world.

This project was inspired by the founder of the Manas Collective and her journey, a difficult path that led to transformation, as the land held her story and offered strength.

“Stories are the secret reservoirs of values. Change the stories individuals and nations live by and tell themselves, and you can change the individuals and nations.”
- Ben Okri

Ways to Participate

Every form of participation helps grow a wider field of care, attention, and transformation.

“Things do not change, we change.”
- Henry David Thoreau
