The Listening Field is a project of The Manas Collective, a nonprofit organization dedicated to integrating art, nature, and human experience. The Manas Collective is responsible for the operation of this site and the handling of any data shared within it.
The Listening Field is designed as a space for reflection, expression, and connection. We are committed to protecting your privacy and keeping your participation simple, anonymous, and respectful.
What We Collect
We collect only minimal, non-identifiable information to support the experience of the field. This may include:
- A seed code (if you choose to enter one)
- A general region or location (optional and non-specific)
- Words, intentions, or reflections you choose to share
- We do not require names, accounts, or personal identifying information to participate.
How Your Contribution Is Used: What you share may be gently transformed into elements of the project, including:
- Sound compositions
- Word written on biodegradable paper and decomposed into the earth
- Visualizations (such as the evolving field map)
- Artistic or research-based interpretations of the collective field
Your contribution is never connected to your identity.
Data Storage & Retention
All submissions are stored temporarily and are automatically deleted within 30 days. We do not maintain long-term personal records of participation.
We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
Cookies & Analytics
We may use minimal, privacy-conscious analytics to understand general usage of the site (such as overall visits or page interactions). This data is not personally identifiable.
Your Rights (International Users)
If you are located in regions with data protection laws such as the European Union or California, you have the right to request access to or deletion of any data associated with your interaction. While submissions are anonymous, you may contact us with any concerns.
